Robe to Beachport

Kotgee Campground, Canunda National Park, South Australia

9th - 11th February, 2018

We left on Friday afternoon. Travelling south from Adelaide to the Kotgee campground located in the Canunda National Park. The campsite is located south of Beachport. It has some cover with a table and a long drop toilet.

We drove this beach track the opposite way to how it is normally driven, entering the beach access at just past Beachport.

The track took us down the beach and through the sane dunes all the way north, towards Robe.  Stunning views all along the way.

The very last bit of beach driving, just before ducking inland towards Robe, was made up of really fine sand. All three cars that were in our group got bogged here. This is a notorious stretch of beach for people getting stuck. After a fair amount of digging we all got out and made our way off the beach and headed towards Robe.

This is the second time I have done this trip. It is a really good one. The sand makes it very challenging in parts but the hard work is rewarded with stunning scenery. I don’t think this will be the last time I go down this track.

Here is a video of part of the trip
